It’s hard to believe my 30 Days of Design challenge is already over! I’m happy to say that despite a few close-calls and a semi-neglected social life that I was able to successfully complete a design on each of the 30 days. It was a great learning experience, allowing me to try styles I wouldn’t normally work in, hop into programs I don’t use often enough (or even learn new ones), and grow overall as a designer.
“Hi, I’m Tom” – Tom
In keeping with the theme of switching up the programs I’m using each day, I decided to use After Effects for today’s entry in my ’30 Days of Design’ series. I’ve done quite a bit of typography animation before, but never anything quite like this (with each letter animating on separately and being revealed by various layers). I wanted to keep it simple, so I didn’t use any fancy effects or lighting, just some good old-fashioned hand-animated type.
